About WhichWise

Last updated: June 2026

WhichWise exists because comparing credit cards in India is harder than it should be. Issuer sites bury the fine print. Aggregator sites optimize for lead fees, not reader interest. Reward math is buried under marketing copy. We think you deserve better.

Our mission

Help anyone in India choose a credit card that actually fits their spending, with real reward math, honest trade-offs, and the fine print surfaced instead of hidden. We aim to be the single most trustworthy source of credit card information in India.

What makes us different

  • Real reward math on every card.We work out the effective rate after caps, exclusions, and category rules, so you compare what you'll actually earn, not the headline rate the marketing leads with.
  • Category caps and exclusions are up front. If a card caps at ₹500/month or excludes fuel from rewards, we say so clearly. These details determine whether a card is actually good for your spending pattern.
  • Devaluation tracking. Banks reduce benefits without notice. We track changes across issuers and publish them transparently.
  • Our rankings are data-driven. We rank cards by reward rate, fees, cap structure, and benefit quality, not by which issuer pays us most.

How we fund the site

At launch, WhichWise earns no revenue. We are bootstrapped and the site is free to read with no ads, no paywalls, and no premium tier. If we introduce affiliate links in the future, affiliate relationships will never influence rankings or reviews. We will disclose every affiliate link clearly on the page where it appears, plus on this About page and the disclaimer.

How we research

Our editorial policydescribes the full process: which sources we use (official bank T&Cs, RBI circulars, issuer press releases), how we verify each card and surface its last-verified date, the quality checks every card page must pass before publication, and how we handle corrections. We also use AI tools to speed up research synthesis and consistency checks; every figure is human-verified against the issuer's published terms, and every page is reviewed and approved by a person before publication.

Who runs WhichWise

WhichWise is built and maintained by a small independent team in India. We are not affiliated with any bank, card issuer, or financial services firm. If you want to know who's behind a specific article or calculator, the person-level authorship policy is being rolled out across pages. Check back in coming weeks.
