Our editorial take on this card
What works
The 25% Airtel rate (mobile, broadband, WiFi, DTH via the Thanks app) is the highest telecom cashback in India. The cap is now dynamic, set at 2× whatever 1% base cashback you earn on general retail that month. Utilities (gas, electricity, water) pay 10% through the same app, at a 1× dynamic cap. Base 1% on everything else is uncapped, which is rare at this fee level. Zomato, Blinkit, and District each return 10% up to ₹200/month, though as merchant wallet credit, not statement cashback. The ₹500 fee waives at ₹2L annual spend, easy for a primary card to clear.
The dynamic-cap rewrite is the catch: spend nothing on general retail and the Airtel/utility rates collapse to zero. Lounge access (4 domestic visits/yr) was killed outright in April. Swiggy and BigBasket are gone; the remaining Zomato and Blinkit perks are wallet credit, not real cashback, with ₹499 minimums. Forex is 3.5%. International travel is out. And eight categories earn nothing (fuel, rent, wallet loads, EMI, insurance, jewellery, government, education), a chunky slice of most households.
Bottom line
Post-April-2026 this is a changed beast. The 25% Airtel rate is still market-leading on paper, but you now have to actively swipe the card on everything else to unlock it. Low downside at ₹500, low upside unless it becomes your primary card.

- Airtel 25% cashback cap changed from fixed ₹250/month to dynamic: 2x your base cashback earned that month

Excluded Categories
8 categories earn no rewards on this card
⚠ Do not use for Fuel / Petrol / Diesel / CNG, Wallet / Prepaid Instrument Loading, Rent Payments and 5 more. You earn 0 rewards on these spends. Use a different card or pay direct.
This card works best for airtel services and utility bills. Spends in those categories still earn at the headline rate.
Who Is This Card For?
Airtel subscribers who'll put ₹10,000+/month of general retail on the card, enough to actually open up the dynamic Airtel/utility caps. Age 18–70, apply through the Airtel Thanks app or online.
Anyone planning to use it only for Airtel bills (the new caps zero out without general spend), international travelers (3.5% forex), and former Swiggy/BigBasket users. Those rewards are gone. Want lounge access in this fee band? HDFC Regalia Gold or IDFC FIRST Select instead.
